Anyone out there have and use the LS 4100 fish finder by Furuno? If so, what is your opinion of it?

No opinion on thr model.On the brand... my 667 is 10yrs old and reads good to about 650'700' and perfect to 400'.The 10" machine on the commercial boat I work on is twice that old and except for worn-out buttons is awesome.

I don't know about the model either, but the brand has a great reputation. I have the combo chart plotter and depth sounder, and it works great for me.

I don't know what this photo of it in my boat will add to the discussion, but it does give me another excuse to show a photo of my boat. :D

If you want a Good Furuno, get a 600L, it is a great bottom machine.

The LS 4100 is a high-quality entry level fishfinder, but only 300 W RMS, which may work well for what you want to do. I would go 600 W RMS minimum, but thats my opinion...I've been spoiled with a 1000W RMS and really like looking at every detail I can see on on the bottom.

A 600 watt RMS machine would be the 582, you can also use a 1000 watt rms transducer with it.

I have the FCV1100 bottom machine and the Navnet chartplotter/radar on the battlewagon. Couldn't be happier with them. Haven't had any issues but I've heard their customer service is excellent as well. I'm going to replace the chartplotter soon for a new one, but only to upgrade.

I have that machine, it works awesome...Also have a nev net and it is an awesome machine too. I couldnt be more happy!

Years ago I had the precursor to that model, the LS6000, and for the price I don't think it could be beat. Color gives you a lot more information, but if that is your price range or greyscale is ok for your application, I think it would probably be a solid choice.

Furuno tech support is excellent. I've called them about my old CRT 582 to talk to them about transducers, etc and couldn't be happier with their responsiveness and willingness to help the customer.

You cannot go wrong w/ Furuno for a FF. I have the FCV 620 as a stand alone unit. Some folks say that Garmin has a edge in the GPS/chartplotter units; but Furuno is still the leader in radar technology. To integrate radar and GPS on the same unit (separate units use up too much console space on my 23) you either choose a Furuno dual function model for the radar or a Garmin model for the GPS. Think it's a toss up.
