Whatever happened to intelligent debate. I am a democrat, stand up for what I believe in and get bashed repeatedly for it. And now from a drunken redneck on the political forum. Speaking of which, did you ever hook up with Hoghunters wife when he was in the grounds. That post showed such class! :stupid:

He did get thru Yale and I think he had SATs in the 1300 range so he certainly is above average in terms of linguistic and mathematical intelligences. He lacks a certain amount of common sense.

INTELLIGENT; adj. 1. having or showing intelligence. esp. of a high level. 2. quick of mind;clever. 3. (of a devise or machine) able to vary its behavior in response to varying situations and requirments and past experience.

not sure about that one.

He recently gave a speech stating "It sure is nice being in a place where
there are more people with cowboy hats than people wearing ties". Well
sorry to say but the cowboy hat is not exactly the symbol for intelligence.
At least anywhere I have lived. He did make it through Yale and I hear he
he was a really good "Cheerleader" though.

Have you surmised that my wife and I both like women by reading all my posts. Do you think that is embarassing to me. Let me tell u a little about my wife. She is 24, I was her first when she was 18. She has surfed with me, sky-dived with me, fished with me, speared with me and had several threesomes with me (only women, she would not have it any other way). We do everything together and she is like my right hand and I, hers. Many, many people are jealous of what I have and I don't blame them. Here are some pics. First is Kelli's first AJ that she caught. That day she said the wrong thing. "I just wanna catch an AJ." She caught about 10 before she said I don't ever wanna catch another f-ing AJ again!

I'd say Bush's C.V. is more impressive than the collective C.V.’s of all of his loudest critics and certainly more so than anyone's here on spearboard.

Never thought of a hat as a measure of intelligence but I could definitely see where the lack of such might not be the best idea. Bush does have a drawl and a bit of a southern accent and there are many who assume this to be a sign of ignorance, but he's not the first President who couldn't say nuclear. Carter also pronounced it nucuelar and he supposedly was the smartest president. He was smart enought o win election twice against a Harvard and a Yale graduate. I don't think he is as smart as Clinton but smarter than people give him credit for.
Bush also got better grades at those schools than his opponent, but that’s probably just because he has the benefit of an Andover preparatory education.

Hey schtickit...why don't you just "schtick" with the democrats, they need more smart guys like you. By the way, how many elections have you actually voted in since you "earned" your right to speak?

stickitfishy,

Maybe Bush is not "Intelligent" but he was smart enough to get elected to Governor in Texas 2 times and smart enough to get Elected as President of the United States 2 times.

He was also a Pilot, he might still be one, it isn't exactly easy to become a Pilot.

What have you done with your life?

Graduated from Yale with a BA in history, successfully completed pilot training for ANG and flew F-102's, Masters degree in Business Administration from Harvard.

Just on the face of it looks like he has an IQ that is a bit higher than average. Of those of you that have the same or similar degrees and accomplishments, do you consider yourself intelligent? Contrary to popular belief you can’t buy degrees from those universities, now if he had a 45” vertical leap and could run the 40 in 3.5…..?

Still would not matter, those schools do not offer athletic scholarships.

And for those of you that say his Daddy paved the way, get a grip. #1 - his Daddy was a high place government offical in the 60's. but really nothing special. He was not VP until 1980, etc... How can you get preferential treatement for something that your Dad has not yet done, but is going to do? #2 - The Ivy League schools are absolutely full of the children of the rich, famous and well connected. I can assure, he was nothing special there. The only people that can afford an Ivy League school, if not on scholarship, are the absolute rich.

Junior - funny you would jump into this. I can see and totally understand if you don't like the mans decision, but to come off like you are far above him or any other Republican in power is both arrogant and ignorant.

Just for the record, I voted for more Democrats than Republicans last week. I, unlike most here, vote on the Candidate, not the party.

I liked his dad but GW is a total ding dong who would NEVER have made it this far without the name. That is a fact. The question was pretty much answered in the last election anyway. It would be nice to see both sides step up and try to do whats best for the American people rather than for thier own party now. The check and balances thing has gone pretty far astray.

First of all, I hate all these political threads.

I really wish that we could quit bitching about politics and talk about spearfishing. But, Alas, I find myself reading this crap - like driving by a car accident, I suppose.

I love how people that can't string together a coherent sentence call the US President dumb.

Then, they'll say that he "bought" his degrees, or that he was a "legacy." That totally undermines the whole concept of college education.

But, what's the excuse to explain his SAT scores? Seriously, our whole entire system of higher education uses these as an impartial judge of admissability. If he's dumb, he did pretty well on them.

Some people may say that you can only criticize his intelligence if you had better scores, went to a better school, etc. No doubt, he's put his foot in his mouth a few times...but who hasn't?

In the end, I think maybe it's just too easy to call him dumb because he mispronounces words...come to think of it, probably about as easy as using spell check to correct your shortcomings.

Bush's Granddaddy Prescott went to Yale, was a member of Skull and Bones and was also a U.S. Senator. These are the political connections that guarantee acceptance to places like Yale, regardless of your SAT's.

Oh and by the way, I propose a constitutional amendment that prohibits close relatives of former presidents from themselves becoming president. No sons, brothers, daughters, and yes, even wives. I seem to remember learning in high school history that the Founding Fathers wanted to create a government that is very much unlike a monarchy, yet when the son of a president becomes one that seems pretty suspicious to me.

When Bush jr. was growing up he was always the failure in family with is brother becoming the governor of Florida and all. So he graduates high School with a C average and gets into Yale because he had the connections to get in, not because he had the smarts. Then while in college he did nothing and was barely hanging onto a C- average. Then his daddy became the president and Bush Sr. went into Kuwait and kicked out saddam, saddam put a reward for the death of Bush Sr.
Then little Bush graduated and proceed to bankrupt two companies. Now being the failure of his family he decides to run for president to take down saddam and bring back a good name to his family. Then he received the presidency not because he rightfully won, but because his brother helped him out in Florida. So be becomes President and wanting to do something “right” and “finish” what his dad started he invades Iraq and once again he has let his family down.
