I was at about to buy one , the 29 ft. Honestly , for the money they can give you a very good deal , but you get what you pay for, it's like buying a seafox .Take a sea trial and then decide, but if you have the money go for a world cat , glacier bay or something .

thanks for the info.
but...why? do they ride like shit?
i've been looking at a used on for under 100k w/diesels.
seems like a good deal. i have not seen the boat in person and that can all go to shit really quick. in general though seems like a nice set up.
more info from anyone would be greatly appreciated!!!

I really like the looks of Baha King Cat. I have been trying to find out more information but seems like there isn't much info. out there. I would like to see one up close and to get a ride on one here in the Gulf but I will probably have to keep searching.

PM Marisa D. He has the 29.6 Baha Cat w/twin Honda 225s and he is really happy with it. I've been out on it a few times, it handles rough seas very well. I actually think it rides better in 3-5/4-6 than it does in 2 foot chop. Very very dive friendly setup. Doc squeezed racks for 20 tanks on his.

And I see MarisaD routinely 50nm from home offshore. The 34 is really dive friendly.

It sure looks good at a glance, Brad. I would say it is definitely worth a look & test ride.

When I went to the dealership to test the boat it was a nice ride ,it's ok , no doubt about it. It was a brand new 2006 29' king cat, retail was about 120 000 and I was getting it for 87 000 . but I took my time to check it out and I found some things I didn't like , the one that hold me back was that I got in the cabin and down where the two hulls meet it was kind of loose and when it rode it vibrated quite a bit . The boat was brand new, so I took my time to ride a glacier bay , a world cat , and honestly, word cat and glacier bay are way better according to ride, stabilyty, finish, etc, specially the glacier bay , the problem is money .Like I said before, if the money is an issue I assure you can get a pretty good deal in the king kat. the rest is a matter of luck. Anyways sometimes you buy expensive and the thing turns out to be crappy. This is my experience I'm just sharing it with you . Ride the boat, only then you'll know if it's worth it , may be I was unlucky myself.

Like I said before, you need to PM Marisa D about this boat. I am pretty sure Doc had glass work done (warranty) in the area you describe, not too long after the initial purchase. I sleep in that berth when I ride with him and it's nice and stable now.
Also, his boat is the planing hull, Glacier Bays are all displacement hulls.

I've spent a lot of time fishing and diving off there 296 cat. It's a great ride, I've slept in that rear berth while running hard in 2-4's. There not as well built as a glacier bay or world cat but you get what you pay for. You can buy the boat direct from the factory and save big bucks and have it customised to your likening. I've never rode on the 34' cat it's a monster. I was at there factory last week and they have a new 32' pilot house cat in the works.

im interested in the 34 because the 29 is just not big enough. looking to have a range of 150nm offshore and be SAFE. will invest in two epirbs, static release can life raft, etc, etc. But you said you saw a 32. if you could pm ANY info on that boat or a contact # that would be great!! i've been trying to find a custom trailer for the 34' inboard V drives with no luck. seached the site www.thehulltruth.com and found more bad things than good about the boat. but they talk shit about every boat. also the finish to me is not a big deal at all, the structural build of the boat is all i care about, stringers, top cap, hull, delam, etc, etc
anybody else w/positive or negitive info looking to hear from you. :cowboy:

I bought a Baha direct from the manufacturer last year and put 500 hours on it. Aside from some very minor stress cracks she held out pretty well. I am NOT impressed at all with the fit and finish of Baha, but for the price it is a tradeoff you take. A buddy bought the exact same 257 WAC made by Pursuit and his is a beautiful vessel compared to the Baha - but he paid $60k MORE for it. I guess I will put up with the fit/finish issues to save that type of coin.
Every Baha I have ever seen has faded and dulled long before a better made boat will fade. Whenever Baha has a choice to use cheaper parts they do, so be prepared to replace things with better quality parts as you own it.
I drove up to Steinhatchee and met the owner of Baha to test my boat before buying. Nice guy, and he was communicative after the sale.
