Has anyone here ever been to hong kong, if so are spearguns illegal there? I found a cheap flight to the philippines from LAX but it stops in hong kong...I have heard that you cannot have spearguns there even on a connected flight to another destination.


If anyone has any experience with this, any help would be much appreciated.

been there lots of times, never brought a speargun there though. if you are on a through flight from LAX to MNL, and your gun was checked in at LAX, it shouldn't matter as it'll be in the cargo all the way through. you won't get to see the gun until MNL.

there are spearos in HKG too. i think it should be ok to bring in guns. need to call up the customs to double check.

I'm going on a through flight from LAX to Hong Kong-switch planes then to Cebu. Someone has told me that their friend had an issue on a connecting flight when he was nearly arrested for having a speargun. Any advice from Hong Kong spearos on the board on where to get a import license or permit would be much appreciated.
