While driving from my last customers house the other day I was listening to my Sirius radio (Bubba The Love Sponge, Channel 101, 3pm-7pm) and got to thinking about how much money we are spending on wars outside the U.S. not to mention the aid we provide to other countries.
For some reason I was also thinking about my taxes and what I will probably owe again this year. I was thinking that maybe an alternative to electing people we could just place in power(s) individuals. Let me finish.
While filing your taxes every year, whether you outright owe or get a refund, we all pay. But lets put a spin on this. The very last boxes we check before signing our name are boxes that allow us to place a percentage of the money we owe to the programs the U.S. has in place. This will allow the citizens to finally have a say as to where our money is spent. This souds good now that I have had a few beers but in reality it is not a bad idea. This was the tax paying citizens are back in control of where the money is spent. If there are citizens that are indecisive about where their money goes we could place it in what I would call a management fund that would be divided equally between all budgetary line items.
Hence, we cannot pick a fight with someone without money. We have now placed a true limit on 'pork' spending and I am sure that many citizens would help reduce the federal deficit. We would finally be back in charge, as the constitution was witten.
Now about the people in charge of all this. This is what I have not given too much thought to, but I suppose they could be elected officials, but I feel this system would also support a more positive voter turnout.
I shall call this...Scottenomics!!
