Saturday, my neighbors son was freediving off of davis reef near islamorada. He is 20 years old and freedives a lot. He came up with a fish and said that there were lots more of them down there and he went back in. They were in about 60' of water. After 4 minutes he did not come up so they called the coast guard and began looking for him. Today Monday they are still conducting a search. The hope is that he surfaced and could not get back to the boat. He is wearing a blue camo wetsuit. If you are offshore please keep an eye out for someone in the water.
Needless to say his mom is very nervous and would love to get her son back.

The monroe county sherrif is still conducting the search as of this time.

I'll keep him and his family in his prayers. Last time I heard of a kid wearing a camo wetsuit lost at sea he was picked up by an italian freighter.

Ok guys, time to change your prayers. They just found his body on the reef not far from where he was diving. This is really sad. His mom need some real prayers right now. If any of you know the man upstairs, she sure could use some strength and comfort, especially in the next few days as the reality sets in.

Thanks

Ken

Very sorry to hear about this. I was fishing at the E Marker just about 1 mile south of Davis Reef on Saturday morning. Three thunder/lightning storms passed through and we had to head in.

My prayers are with him.

Somebody made reference to this tragedy on another thread, I think. They seemed to ellude to the fact that shark attack may have had some part in this. Is this true?
