I took SASK out this morning on the trusty little Whaler out of Dana Point around 6:30. We ran about 13 miles south, just past San Onofre to a big kelp bed.
On the way SASK was telling me how much fun he had last night with his G-Friend, drinking tons of beer and red wine, etc.
Well, 15 seconds into the dive and he starts chumming the water.
This was no ordinary chum, he was launching, and turning colors.
The vis. was so bad, I could see maybe 5 feet, so we pulled anchor and headed home.
I was so excited to get in the water today, there were Yellowtail Beacons everywhere,(birds) with big bait/smelt hitting the surface all over the place. But the vis was sooooo bad.
The water was at least 72 degrees, with 1 foot/10 second swells.
All the crazy Tuna fishing 100 miles into Mexico has shutdown and is finally moving north towards S.C.I. The big Yellows are out there just waiting for my steel. Lets go get-um!
