View Full Version : Safety on a SS gun

How do I remove it? I just installed a double spare shaft holder and the safety gets in the way. I don't need it anyway, so how do I remove it?? I am hoping someone can tell me before I tear the trigger assembly apart.

Fizisition did it for his and mine. It was a pretty quick fix.

Line up your hacksaw from the top in line with the safety. Saw all the way down to the safety pin. Then saw from the other side to the pin. The safety can easily be removed then. Super glue your trigger mechanism back together. If super glue wont work, try hot melt. (tip- if you remove the shaft from the gun before sawing, you wont have to glue your shaft back together)

Please share this tip with the rest of the Seals before this weekend's WCC Dive 3 at Pasco. :D

No shop or gun maker wants to recommend removing a safety, even though a huge percentage of shooters do it.

One could pick the little c-clip off, remove the knob and spring, shove the safety shaft back through and out of the gun, shake the little D shaped ear out, and it's been neutered. Or one could not.

The real safety on a gun is the unloaded bands, and even then don't point it in unsafe directions.

(It always amused but bothered me to see gun racks in stores with short guns on the outside edge, by stairs, etc... ouch!)
