I was reading a thread involving the Florida guys in the main discussion forum about problems with worms in some groupers. Have any of you noticed worms in the fish (halibut, calicos, sheepshead) you've speared off Southern Calif?
I have never seen any worms here local. Sometimes we would see them in Tuna that we cought near Catalina, but very rare.
If you get a big fish with worms, let me know so I can take it away from you and dispose if it properly. :)

yes, certain fish have worms in them. the only fish i have caught and seen worms in are the halibut...almost all the bigger ones and sometimes the smaller ones.... usually from the long beach/santa monica area has worms. the worms are always in the stomach, i have never seen them in the meat. if you do eat one, you will get sick...sharp abdominal pains, but thats about it. hope this helps.
