Headed out of Ponce inlet at around 7. I have never seen so many Spanish...the schools were everywhere for miles.
Thought we would hit the 70-80 foot ledges...hoping the big Grouper had started to moved in. Unfortunately, we only saw a few Grouper that would have been legal.
Vis was just fair, sea temp was a nice 80. Current was Ripping on the bottom most of the day.
First dive saw a 30+ Cobe but was just out of reach. Mangos were everywhere.
Second dive one of the guys was covered up with Cobia....of course with only 600 psi remaining.
Some HUGE Mangos were shot (Cuberas?). Ended up with only 1 lobster, a few misc. fish and 20 Mangos for the crew. A good day overall.
Pics to come.

Called some of you guys on the radio but did'nt hear anybody. Seastalker...you probably beat us out on this trip. How did you do?

Total for catch was as follows:
2 gags largest 51 pounds
1 red snapper 9 pounds
15 go's to 9 pounds
1 red grouper to 8 pounds
1 jack to 25 pounds
3 triggers to 4 pounds
1 6 pound sheephead
4 bugs to 4 pounds

lost a few cobia due to shaft pulling.....We all saw them on different dives....poor shaft placement and shaft penatration.

the current was ripping in 80 feet...we moved a little deeper to 110 and the current let up some.

We never made it out to our orginal detination due to the current. We did not want to make that 45 mile run if the current was ripping.

Catch up with you next time...I'll have to check my radio

Triggers were huge out there! Finally got tired of them nipping my mangos and poked them with my tip....drew blood on a big boy. That sent them into a frenzy! Little turds are cannibals!:D
