The thermocline is killing east coast diving so me and a couple of friends are considering a trip to the gulf coast. Looking for a good charter for a couple of days or possibly an over nighter to the middle grounds. Any reccomendations would be appreciated.

Jolly Rogers 2. Go to Gulfcoast spearfishing, and see the numerous reports. The website is www.jollyrogersii.com. I will PM you with my number so you can call me tomorrow to talk specifics. Thanks.

Got one spot open on a 2 day Grounds Charter this weekend. Call for details. Check out Gulfcoast Charter section for many other Grounds trips.

That would be 17-18 knots fancy pants ;) . The boat goes faster, but the owner Jim Zurbrick doesn't like to run the diesels over 1700 rpm to reduce strain, maintenance, and engine breakdowns.

17-20 kts is a perfect speed for a Middle Grounds boat, especially if you have a rack to lay on. Nothing quite as soothing as the sound of the diesels working on the way out to the Middle Grounds.
They ought to include that in those white noise boxes for insomniacs.
