What has he done so far that makes you say this?

okay, I am not the expert on these details here, but I think.....He invoked emergency statute(?) to force insurance companies to renew homeowners policies that are or have been cancelled this year....saved me a bunch....I was scheduled to be canceled, and my insurance company just notified me that I will be renewed for another year...Happened to my bro, other family members, many neighbors..everyone was scrambling to find another ins carrier....so this is good, at least short term..

If I understand what he did correctly, He stood up to the lame (and I say that very lightly) legislators in Tallahassee that didn't have the balls to pass such a measure...so he did...That takes Balls!

I certainly don't know that much.....but, I think that it is in effect until after '07 hurricane seasonon... for a short term (until the ineffective shits in Tallahassee reconvene this spring and vote again and try to fix the problem) but if your cancellation falls in that specified time, which I think is from january 30th to nov 30th or something like that...and the insurance company wants to continue to practice in Florida..the insurance companies don't have a choice.... they have to renew you and at the same '06 premium price....Saved my ass, from having to resort to citizens or a b rated company....But, and I say but w/ a big "B"... after nov 30th, no telling what these companies will do, especially if we get hit hard by another storm this year in pinellas (the gulf is at an all time warm up right now...notice all the kings this year, This could certainly act like a big magnet for the big one come this season) all bets might be off after nov 30th...who knows all insurance companies could just say the heck with florida entirely...and just say bye!

But, Charlie Crist did have the balls to do something..at least..he stood up an acted! This kind of action, and if this consistency is the way he governs moving forward, could result in a great term.... :thumps: :thumps: :thumps:

What he has done was force the legislature to rush into passing an insurance reform bill, that puts the state of Florida on the hook if a major storm hits Florida, the taxpayers of Florida have a liability exposure of up to 30 BILLION Dollars.

What else has he done that makes him the best Governor in decades?

By the way, u are falling for line a bs that you are being fed by the ins lobby....I said he could very well be a great governor...he is standing up for what he thinks is right!

Hey, I pay a lot in taxes, I think that I certainly contribute to the states' health here in pinellas county...I also feel that insurance companies have built in huge profits and have raped me plenty in the past...and he is forcing the insurance companies to step up on this issue....we will see...what comes out of it..he has certainly given many people in my similar situation a lot of relief....time will tell how good he is..he actually has already made a difference in peoples lives..with this immediate impact... :thumps: :thumps: :thumps:

Don't you understand that the coastal development will be come almost impossible to insure if we don't have everyone in the state "on the hook" when the big one comes! I think those poor rednecks living in the northern part of the state should subsidize the insurance for the multi-millionaires living on Palm Beach, don't you?

By the Way, whether u know it or not, there are millions of people living in low lying rural communities around the country, not necessarily coastal either, that get wiped out year after year ...for decades...year after year it rains, it floods..homes get wiped out, families & communities refuse to rebuild in higher lying areas...so, year after year, they rebuild in the same place year after year...who do u think has paid for all those rebuilds...year, after year, after year...generation after generation....for decades this same scenario has played out in places like bottom land in ohio, alabama, louisiana, texas, many many other areas as well ....your tax dollars & my tax dollars for decades has been footing this rebuild bill...so this is nothing new....all taxpayers have been subsidizing millions of rebuilds over the years from rainy floods in the entire country....we in pinellas county have been subsidizing other parts of the country for decades!!!!!!

My map doesn't show Lady Lake any place close to Palm Beach. Are you sure that you have a current version?
