wow what a nice fish. Once I get enough experience my uncle is the captain of a commercial boat and goes to Samoa and catches tuna and told me I could go and work for him and he would let me shoot one. Can't wait till I have enough experience to take one down of that size. :thumps:

good news, craig. congratulations.

although i hope your record stands for awhile, i'm sure folks are out there busting their asses trying to top it. if memory serves right, the h&l record is around 390 lbs., so there's still plenty of room for bumping the record upwards. with any luck, it will be craig again next season.

Nice! :thumps: That is the Holy Grail of spearfishing records in my opinion.
Shooting a cow YFT over 200 pounds is the Mount Everest of our sport.
Congratulations Craig, great job!

Thanks Tommy, I would love to get to know you, maybe on a WSB hunt? :D
Anyway, for those interested I used a Kitto tuna gun 65" (made by Ray Klefstad) 3/8 shaft 5/64 cable shooting line (800lb) 5" Alexander tricut slip tip, 5 5/8 bands. I used a Kitto 75 foot bungee with a homemade divinicyl float.

That is Acevedo's boy, I'm drawing a blank on his name right now but what an awesome kid.

Because Craig is from California, most of us know or know of him and are proud to have another californian to wear the YFT crown. I was going to post in the coon ass section but it seems like a lot of you guys are here anyway.
