whats next a 500? I wonder if people will use this motor rather than two samller twins. I am curious, how many of yall with twin motors have ever had one break down offshore and had to come in on just one?

always an advantage of twins. I have had to come in one engine more times than i care to think about......

maybe two of these would replace trips......
I think most boat owners would rather have two smaller engines than one big one...

Two yamaha 150 four strokes @ 466lb = 932lbs, 350 HP @ 804lbs sounds better.

I have been on boats with twins and had to come in on one engine before. I would not even consider goint to The Otherside or making a Bahamas crossing in a boat with one engine. When I heard rumors of this engine last year it was my understanding that one of the intentions was to be able to power a boat with twins, that would normally require trips....PAT

Actually a lot of customers were complainig it was sluggish...so Yamaha bumped it up to 164. :thumps:

Might push a narrow go fast like a Scarab or a Scorpion and make it more diver friendly than twins on the bracket.

What is the MSRP for one of those? (I bet you could get 2 150s for the same price)
