I guess I am going to have to see about putting a team together. But I am just don't know the area out of Galveston. Hopefully we will have the newer boat by then and the weather will be nice.

The Rules state a boat must be launched within ten miles of Galveston. Does anyone know if Bolivar Yacht Basin is within that range? If so I'm in.

Ten miles sounds like a pretty lame rule. They'd be nuts to tell people they couldn't leave out of Clearlake or anywhere in Galveston Bay.

By my measurements, you should be about 8 miles from Galveston Island as the crow flies. there should be no problems. I would just make sure you tell them where you're launching from. You'll be heading out to the Gulf between Galveston and Boliver right? It really doesn't seem logical that they wouldn't at least see that.

Do people actually leave out of Clear Lake for the Gulf? That's a lot of extra water miles to get to the fishes.

It's kinda crazy to run a tournament out of Galveston anyway. There is so much pressure there to begin with; it just takes so much time to get out anywhere decent. But I guess you fish where ya are.....
