Oil cooler is spearing gear related....it is part of a boat...:D

Anyway, to boat owners out there please help :

This is for my friend/client/boss, simply I need this boat to operate or else I can't hunt with him.

I need a reccomendation of a manufacturer who makes ULTRA reliable transmission oil cooler. Actually this is a transmission oil + fuel cooler combo. This is for a 820HP MAN running a ZF gearbox.

I already bought two units in year 2001. I replaced the original ones because it is on a 1994 boat, so I was being cautious and replaced the coolers in 2001, 5 years is a safe bet. BUT !!!! the new coolers in fact leaked, one recently and one last year, leaking on the fuel side. So I ended up using the old coolers back. If these old oil coolers leaked, I can not hunt one of my favourite tuna rocks because importation will take sometime.

So kind Spearo out there link me to your reliable supplier/s, please. I need the oil cooler to be Cupro-Nickel type.

Thanks guys.

Iyadiver,

I don't see what you are looking for in their catalog, but Freeport Marine has been helpful to me in the past. Their phone numbers are (US) 516-379-2610 or 800-645-2565.

You could also e-mail them at sales@freeportmarine.com or check their website: www.freeportmarine.com. Their website wasn't too great the last time I looked at it.

Good Luck,
Gary H

I think rather than a conventional oil cooler, you are talking about an oil heat exchanger, cooled by sea water?

Thanks Gary & Chuck

I have contacted Sen-Dure, an OEM to a few major engine manufacturers. Haven't got any reply yet to my drawing. I am still looking around for another one possible source. Will see what freeport have on the website

This cooler is sea water cooled, yes.
