We dove out at Fishermans Cove last night around 8pm. Visability was 5 foot at best. Temp was 68 on surface. We didnt see one legal size bug. But tons of shorts that were not skitish at all. You could slowly just pick them up, and set them on the palm of your hand. They would just hold on. Ive never seen this before. At one point I put 5 little bigs on my buddies arm, and they just held on for the ride, wierdest thing ever.
Hundreds of bat rays were there. Who is going to shoot one and BBQ it up? I heard bat ray is a substitute for Scallop.
I elect SASK to shoot one and kill it, then cook it up.

I found a little pneumatic speargun last night, its black and green. It is all coroded, and really old, I left it out there.

I wouldn't bother shooting a stingray. I've eaten them before, and they taste awful. You would largely be chewing on soft cartilage.

I forget what the actual percentage is, but it is something extremely high (like 80+%) of all commercially available scallops are actually stingray. I've always wondered that myself. I read that in the "Probably More Than you Wanted To Know About Pacific Fishes" book. Hey Kyle.......powerhead!!!!!!

Hell yeah power head!! We saw a bat ray last night that was HUGE, I grabbed its leading edge wings and it didnt even flinch. It pulled me for a good ways. Its wingspan was wider than my arm span.
We saw a halibut last night that was 4 inches long.

They're supposed to taste like scallops? I wonder what part of the stingray they were serving me at this restaurant?!
