Looking for divers in MN, SD and CO

I am currently in Hawaii but I'll be making a trip to the mainland in Late April or early May. I'm excited to do some freshwater diving and I'm looking for people in Minnesota, South Dakota and Colorado to dive with. Let me know where you are in the state as I will be traveling throughout all three over the following months.

I'm in Sioux Falls SD. Spearfishing doesn't start til summer I forget the day, They changed it this year. Water is cold but I'm usually game to dive.

You would freeze in those months here.

Scubadown and i were just talking about drysuiting it in Wyoming. it's friggin cold, but you can stick carp all year long

I should have specified that I'll be looking to hunt through the summer. I know how long it takes the water to warm in the midwest and that it never does in CO, or WY I suppose. Where in WY where you planning on going, stick?? I'd probably be down to go depending on scheduling.

There are only about 5 lakes you can legally scuba and spear in, our favorite is Glendo, it has walleye, catfish, shad, and carp. You can take game fish if they are in season, and we usually make it up there about twice a month, and out to Nebraska a couple times a month as well.

What about CO?? I Spend alot of time there and have thought about the clear resevoirs like eleven mile. The water seems a bit too cold though.

Austin, You can't swim or dive in Eleven Mile even thou I have and yes its clear and there are good Pike to be shot there just don't get caught. As Stick said He and I are glad to take you out. I have a boat we can dive from... Walleye and Catfish are our two main fish we go after both in Glendo Res. which is 2 hours north of colorado in Wyoming. You can take game fish in Wyoming starting after June 1 In Nebraska we hit Lake McCounaghy starting after July 1 because you can't take game fish in Nebraska till then... Colorado doesn't allow taking game fish at all any more. I also travel up to South Dakota for some fishing out of Pierre South Dakota. Do you free dive or scuba I do both. Water is cool so a 5mm suit is what you need

Thanx for the invite, again. I should have guessed, 11 mile is a s.p., Duh!! I live in Hot Springs, SD. SOuthern edge of Black Hills. I know Gelndo well. Never been in but driven by many times, It's just a few hours for me to get there and would love to join you for a good hunt. Also, I know a guy who dives for walleye in Angostura Reservoir just outside of Hot SPrings. I only free dive. Been on a tank twice but I found free is just that. My next equipment purchase is a 5mm camo suite. Hopefully in early summer. Let me know when you guys are thinking about going to Glendo. And thanx again!! Later

I have dove Angostura Res. Once in a tournament my friend runs a tournament there every year. Marlin and Troy Erickson along with Sean Weisner. It was a bit dirty and low water when I dove it but there is good fish in there. As far as Glendo goes I'll start diving it soon on tanks with a dry suit for carp and then freedive it starting June 1 so anytime you want to go then lets do it. Take care

Sweet... I'm down for Glendo. I'll be back in SD mid may. I'm looking forward to diving asap, even if I'm not hunting. The thought of freshwater and a completely different environment make it hard to wait for the warm up. I'll hit you up when I get back and we can set something up for early june.
