My boat did not have zinc's on the shaft's when I bought it and I was told not to install them because it may cause vibration is this true ? if so Is there another way to prevent electrolysis on the prop's? Any info would help

Install them...2 on each shaft. Make sure you smack each 1/2 with a hammer a couple of times to get it to seat well. Use loctite on the screws.
I used to clean boat bottoms and change zincs. Every boat I have ever seen had them.

Be sure to remove any paint from the area you put the zincs on. Otherwise it's a waste of time. If its in the water, use a piece of plumbers sandpaper, the kind that comes in a roll to sand down to bare SS. Like kaborkian said, whack it with a hammer to ensure the copper insert makes good contact. Tighten the screws again after whacking it to take up the slack created by the whacking.
I used to put mine about 1 - 2 inches from the cutlass bearing. That way I figured it would have very little chance to induce any vibrations. It would also help prevent the shaft from coming completely out of the boat if the transmission coupler should fail.
