Since the wind has been blowing harder than the big bad wolf I have been accumulating the brownie points for this summer. This includes, but is not limited to house cleaning, baby sitting, cooking, ect.Today we went to the Zoo, and to my suprise the had this guy below ("mangrove snapper" Lutjanus griseus) in one of the aquariums, I had some incredible memories of this past summer and even imagined how nice it would have been to see him come out from behind one of the jetty limestone rocks.Mangrove snapper are one of my favorite fish to spear and eat, MAN WHEN WILL THIS WIND STOP BLOWING?????

There is a man who knows how to work it. He's being the model husband and father and building up a stack of weekend passes to go spearing with the boys.
The weather was crap here this weekend as well. High winds, golf ball to baseball size hail and one tornado on Friday. My brother watched the tornado form and come down within a matter of seconds less than a quarter of a mile away from his house. He told me that he dropped everything and jumped in his car and drove a mile or so to a concrete parking garage.
Temps were cool on Friday and Saturday in the low 50's but Sunday was sunny, breezy and warm.

Krystal said to teach her to spearfish and you wan't need all those brownie points. But you will have to get a second job because there's no way you are going to have better dive gear than Her. LOL.

No spearing that I'm aware of around here. The only place with enough vis are the rock quarries which are privately owned and do not allow spearing. You could spear carp at Lake Travis in Austin but that is the only one that I am aware of. I have only been spearing with the South Texas Freedivers Association which have members in Brownsville, Portland, San Antonio, Austin. They will be doing some rig trips as soon as the wind stop blowing so hard.

Joe Pool should have decent vis. It's near Arlington.

I use to do some bass fishing in that lake, but that was way before I was into spearfishing.
