The bugs know, the killing season is near......

We did 2 dives last night, first at Deadmans in Laguna, then at Aliso Creek. 3 Bugs were seen all night, and soooo small. We dove from 15 feet to 50. Super low tide again, and the vis is getting worse and the water is getting colder. I found a pair of stainless steel bolt cutters at Aliso. The DFG was at the docks again at Dana, even at midnight.

Why are you guys scouting so much?
Just wait 'till the season starts and go get them..It's not that hard.
If you have problems getting a limit..give me a call,I'll take you out, but I dont do the tank thing, its cheating.

We actually dive 3-4 nights a week normally off my boat. As the season gets closer we call the dives scouting dives. Last week we could limit out in about 30 minutes, but this week it all changed. As the water is getting cooler, it seems the #'s are dropping. Also bug hunting is a hobby for my wife and I. March is a sad time for us. I also keep detailed logs of all bugs spotted and or taken. This year I will be marking on my GPS each bug that I see along my dive path. This alone will show depth, temp, time, date, tides and location. Looks awsome when dowloaded to my PC, and put into a slide show by date.
....the tank thing is cheating? Sorry, I'm a fat load, and can't hold my breath for 20 seconds.
If we can't get limits locally, we just run out to Catalina.

Yes, I did. Sorry you couldn't go; it's slowly shaping into a nice club. You missed a good meeting, although it ran a bit long. They hadn't even got to the Riffe factory video presentation when I left at 9:30PM. Hope you can make it next time.
