Just got this from Papa Smurf,
RAFFLE, RAFFLE, RAFFLE - A Riffe NO-KO-OI speargun, completely rigged for rig diving, and valued at $1000. The gun comes with a 3/8" shaft with a rest tab (for candyasses), 26" x 5/8" amber bands and Riffe detachable head ice pick tip. Custom rigging will include a custom-made carrier installed to accept a 5" JBL detachable spear tip – HELL DIVERS STYLE. The ice pick head will be remove and given with the gun for a back-up head. An extra carrier for the JBL tip will also be included. A double length of cable will be installed with a length of line attached to a quick snap. The gun is being donated by Hell Diver and Rodeo Weight Master Ralph Luther, rigged by Hell Diver Terry "Papa Smurf" Migaud under the direction of Hell Diver Mark Peart. This is the same rigging that Mark has used to shoot, in just the last few months, the Louisiana state record Barrucuda 57-10, a 103 pound Warsaw, 130 plus pound Tarpon and a 88-10 Amberjack. This gun is fast becoming the gun of choice among the big game spearfishing divers of the Oil Rigs. The winner can rerig the gun to fit his or her own personal choice and keep the riding rig for oil rig diving.
As an added bonus, a paperback issue of "the helldivers rodeo" signed by many of the divers mentioned in the book will be added to the prize. The author Humberto Fontova may or may not be present at the Rodeo Site, he is trying to add the Rodeo into his schedule.
In the picture, you see Mark holding the gun and the Louis "Rok" Rossignol holding the book. Rok still shoots a JBL and still holds his own.
Raffle tickets are 6 for $25 via pay pal or mailorder. No single price tickets except at the Rodeo site on June 3rd. When ordering tickets please include your name, address, phone #, and e-mail address.
Mail order may be sent to Hell Divers, 3513 43rd Street, Metairie, LA 70001 with check payable to Hell Divers. Winner need not be present. Drawing will be held on June 3rd at the Hell Diver's rodeo site just before the award presentation. If the winner is not present and their is no one available to pick up the prize, the prize will be shipped to the winner.
