I have a Xcel 3/5/7, but it's really warm for water temps >64 F and not that great for freediving. I'm thinking about a 3mm Picasso suit; that open cell neoprene is supposed to be warmer and lighter. Has anyone used this suit? Is 3mm of open cell neoprene enough to cover me in water temps as low as 60-62 F? I usually don't spend more than 2 hours of continuous time in the water.

the picasso is very warm. I have a 2 piece 3 mil apnos(open cell) and love it. It should keep you warm enough for the temps and times you mentioned. The built in hood is what willl make the most difference....just be careful putting the suit on.

ROger on the be careful putting the suit on, make sure you wet it and learn how to put it on properly and especially taking it off, the wrong way will cause it to break at the seems and always make sure it is wet !!!
You may also encounter a problem if you are a xxlarge. They are super warm. Look at the excel camo they make a 3/2 which when you wear a hood with makes it nice and warm as well

Thanks for the feedback guys. One question though, do you have to drill earholes in the hood to equalize your ears? I had to do that with my Xcel hood since I had intermittent problems clearing my ears.
