NOT... Red tide has plagued us now for 3 days. Visablility for the first 20 feet down is 1-2 foot.

FRIDAY-3pm, launched from Dana Point and made way for San Onofre Power Plant. The wake behind the boat was red/brown. We anchored up in 75' and jumped in. We couldn't see the end of our guns, we couldn't see the kelp stalks until we were 2 feet from them. It was so nasty and scary diving down trying to get to some visability in litteraly "black water".
We ended the dive after 15 minutes.
That evening we strapped the tanks on and scuba'd at Seal Rock in South San Clemente. Vis was shit. We didnt know where the bottom was until we ran into it, almost like diving by brail. Vis cleared up a little bit below 40'.

Saturday-Started at Salt Creek Kelp and scuba'd because vis is so incredibly bad. We dropped to 55' and the vis was ok, 10' at best and cold.
Dive#2- Seal/Shit Rock in South Laguna, water was red, and the Sea Lions were going crazy at that time. Jumping out of the water, spinning, and coming right up to us. There were maybe 30 in the water at one point, alll chasing each other, and tossing fish up in the air. Perfect situation for some Big Teeth to have a feast. I hate big teeth. Freediving not an option, so we don the scuba units and meet at the anchor. There was a school of little white sea bass just hanging there, in 40'. They were all about 5# each. Im not a baby killer so we left them alone.(cough, rick, cough)
Dive ended early because of the shit water.

Sunday night-Aliso Creek Beach, boat dive with 5 guys. Vis was a little better, about 6-7 feet on the bottom, we saw a few bugs, and 2 legal halibut(of course I didnt have my gun). I lost my knife, and my backup light somehow. Oh Well.

Spearfishing conditions are shit right now, hopefully it will clear up soon for Friday Night. Scuba should be ok when you get past the shit. Im betting the bugs will be in average depth of about 20' for opening night.

DFG was lurking around dana point harbor again. They searched us again, he even knew my name.
