Season is upon us here and I wondered who are the freedivers in the north Pinellas/Pasco area that I can call on short notice, to go shoot some fish. Got the boat out back on the lift, 15 minutes from freediving paraside. When Im not booked or my fishing charters cancel I like to run out to hunt and explore potential spots but dont care to dive alone and most of my friends are rod and reelers only. Sign up here: Chad you're already in.

Pretty good hike from Miami. I usually end up looking for divers the night before when my charter cancels for the day. Sometimes I have a few days. Its tough that the prime charter fishing season has to coincide with my favorite shooting season as well.

Ed,
It is hard for me to involve myself in the local spearing community right now due to my job, but I will have to take you up on the offer after next June if it still stands. In the meantime, I will be in and out of Tampa and freediving as much as I can. I enjoy reading your stuff.

Ed, just waiting for the temp to drop in hopes of some beter vis. I freedive 90% of the time. I high and dry my boat in Clearwater and work some small breaks and hardbottom out of here 30-35'. When it is really clear I hit some deeper wrecks and ledges. It would be great to have someone to go with because I end up going solo much of the time (not so safe). I work a night shift but can be reached at (727)446-8709. Ask for Eric or leave a message and I'll get in touch, I'd like to discuss it further.

Ed, put me on the PM call list. I love freediving, but rarely get the opportunity. Hopefully you'll be heading out when I'm not on a Jolly Rogers trip, or knee deep in my "real" job. What depth ranges do you guys like to work in?

We usually shoot in 12 to 30 feet. Pretty easy, vis can be incredible, and "usually" a good quantity of fish. Gags up to maybe 15 pounds, lot of hogs 3 and 4 pounds, a few doormat flounder, a few mangos not real big, cobia a possibility until about mid October. Thats about 7 to 10 miles out up this way. Glad to hear from you guys. I can take at least 3 others out. Ill see who's available when Im going for sure. No GPS's allowed.....

Definitely put me on your PM list, Ed. My right ear is ruptured at the moment but should be good near the end of Jan.. I'm an accomplished freediver but my buddies don't do much of it, so I don't get a chance to very often. I live just on the south side of the Skyway, so I could be to your area in about 45 minutes.
Thanks

Ed, I would love to meet some other divers and go freediving with you. I will PM my cell number. I will gladly kick in gas, ice, clean boat, whatever. Oh yeah, I don't own a GPS (wouldn't bogart your numbers anyway).

Ed, Im new to the forum, but not the sport. I'd love to chip in for gas, ice, food, etc. Let me know, being in orlando, Ive gotta drive to get to either coast, all I need is 2hours fair warning. I can go just about any day of the week (barring unforseen circumstances) My # is cell: (407)443-0266 or home: (407)647-8376, hope to hear from you.

12-30ft..... cool....I'm good for about 30 seconds of honest bottom time in 25-35 ft. I'd be glad to go, I only work every third day and love midweek boating the best. Always hard to find somebody that has weekdays off and can actually get down with ya. Put me down if ya need somebody.
