We had a great Guest Speaker at our meeting tonight: the Spearboard's own ochuntersteve!
Steve gave us a very informative update about the Orange County Hunters and future goals for the club.
One aspect that got my attention were Tuesday night freediving clinics to help divers improve skills for hunting...specifically dynamic apnea and statics, all done under close supervision of course.
I think it's a great group with some serious potential for fun and good times whether you surf, freedive, or SCUBA.
Hunting was on everyone's mind, as bug season starts soon...
To that end, Steve's guest, Bob, told us about a wonderful place in Mexico that has great hunting, and epic surf when the swell comes in. Something for everyone!
I want to thank Steve for taking the time and energy to come to our meeting to let us know about the new club and extend a friendly hand to us.
I know they will be very successful; I plan on putting the OCHunters on my list of groups to meet (hmmm...are dual memberships allowed?)
The website is www.ochunter.com <--- check it out.
Steve went the extra mile to help my get a group of our hunters a small charter to San Clemente Island. Very kind.
----->We'll be doing that when the viz improves.
In the meantime, training makes sense while the fish grow bigger!
