We dove spots around the Dam area. The water was 60 degrees on the surface and very murky up shallow. There was an abundance of silt up shallow, but it started to clear up around 20 feet. It became crystal clear with a blue color at about 35 feet.
The cool thing was, the Hybrids and Stripers were up shallow. While freediving in the 25-35' range, I saw several large schools. The largest Striper I saw was about 40 pounds. She came in for a close look while I was laying on the bottom at 33 feet. I had my Striper gun with me and it was a real temptation. I am proud to say, I resisted the strong desire to pull the trigger. As a substitute, I inserted the spearshaft into some large Carp. :D
Hope the water clears for the seasonal opener on 6/15. It was a real treat to see large Stripers that shallow.
