Speared my first pike yesterday in Big Sky country, New to spearboard and spearfishing, I found myself in the shallows sneakin through lillypads and swam up behind the poor bastard, I think I was more stunned than he was till I plugged him in the guts as he started swimming away. Tough SOB though, I stuck him 3 times in the head with my knife before he stopped buckin! Now Im hooked!

What lake did you stick im at... I dove Ft. Peck once and got a nice 7 lbs. Pike.. But it rained a shit ton and was cold the time I was there.

Congrats on the pike!! There are a few lakes in Wy that support them I hope to visit over my summer break and nab a few or so.... Ft. Peck would be a great spot to dive if/when clear; a number of years (pre-spearo) I caught some nice (19 pounds the biggest) pike casting big bucktails of points somewhat near the dam. They were few and far between but damn exciting when it happened. I remember seeing alot of bass there too.

Man I cant wait until the end of June and get back to Wyo for some fish death.

This fish came out of Upsata Lake, they get a LOT bigger. We haven't hit fort peck yet due to lo viz. This is a picture of one of the spots we spear. It is a slow spot in the clearwater river and the pike pile up here early in the year.
