Just thought I'd post a pic of Chris Huddgin's prize winning grouper.
I'll let him tell the story when he wakes up in two or three days.

To be clear, that is me holding up his fish. Chris was too tired to lift it last night and his wrist was all swollen up from some mystery injury he got on tourney day. That, and the fish looks bigger with me holding it than it does if Chris held it. ;)

Congratulations Chris, and nice job on the weigh in and MC duties. I was really impressed with how smoothly it all went.

Keez and SSW (I used the letters, cause I just can't bring myself to call a nice gal like you a W****),

It was nice meeting you both at the weigh in. I'm the guy that traded you the band material for the whipping line. Sorry that we beat ya'll to that wreck, but you didn't miss much.

To fill the rest of you in on Johnny Dinx's comment, we were all anxiously waiting on the boat to know if Financial Advis had killed the big grouper he was hunting. They were at their deco stop, so we sent Dinx in to get a visual on the results. He looked down and reported something like "Yeah, they got some fish, but not the big one, just some small stuff." After he looked down a second time he said, "No wait, one of them is pretty good sized."

Here's another view.

It looks bigger than it really is since I was holding it out arm's length away from my body. :D

When I was doing my deco, I was hoping that we would take a photo of Chris and me with our ungutted carbos fresh out of the water. By the time I hit the surface, the carbos were gutted, on ice and we were rushing to the next spot. What a wasted photo op. :( I would have loved to have a photo of me and Chris to remember those two dives. I'm glad that you snapped some photos of the fish Kieth. I thought that we'd get a photo later, but I don't think anyone even got one of Chris and his fish at the weigh in. Next time . . .

You're right, there is nothing like a pic of a fish fresh out of the water. Unfortunately my camera was back in the truck. I guess we'll just have to go back there and do it again next year.

Next year??? I'm sure Chris could be persuaded to go back for the SPO! :thumps: I just need to find out what I can offer to beg my way onto the boat.... Boat Bitch anyone??? :D

Mine was in my backpack. I ALWAYS have a camera with me.

Johny,

Unfortunately, I have a work trip scheduled in the Tortugas during the SPO. You wouldn't poach a fellow's spot would you????

Keith, don't sweat it. I know there was an agreement on the boat on Saturday, but I don't even have the #'s to keep to myself :(
