I currently have a oxycheq wing and backplate setup right now with double al80 tanks. Its a pain in the ass to get in and out of since the harness not adjustable on the fly. I'm thinking of switching over to a Zeagle Ranger BCD for comfort, but I hear of some ppl with that switching to wing and backplate. Any suggestions or comments?

You could just get a "deluxe harness" for what you got now.
As far as comfort goes. I think it makes no difference once your under water, whether you have a bulky padded harness with all the extra clips and D rings, Or just a standard old 2' webbing.
The ranger is tough, And can be used for doubles, But will never be as stable and tough as what you already have.
It's all just personal preference I guess.

Pull out a little extra slack from the right shoulder, cut the webbing on the right shoulder right above the chest d ring, weave in stainless steel dive rite weight belt buckle. problem solved for less than 10$ and less than 10 minutes time.

*personal opinion*
i have had my ranger for 6-7 yrs, very durable.
also have dove it with single 120, twin 80's....ya know.
i dove my buddies OMS with the steel backplate and it is a much more streamlined rig.
only prob w/ the ranger is in a STRONG current it tends to DRAG ALOT.
other then that good rig.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm probably gonna re-web my harness and put in one or two of those shoulder clips, seems like a good cheap alternative.
I modified my backplate to include a 2-inch oval loop of stainless steel that I placed at the sides of the backplate. This allows the 2-inch belting to slide between the shoulder and waist sections. I loosen the shoulder straps to put it on and then pull the waist strap to tighten the shoulder and then buckle. It works identically to the way the simple plastic backpack was constructed (which also allowed the shoulder and waist lengths to be adjusted.)

Thanks everyone for your input. I re-webbed it all today and added the shoulder clip, then went and dove it this afternoon. It was such a difference. For the first time I was able to get my setup on and off by myself.
