I have several 60" hybrid shafts for a S.S. gun.
These are line shafts that are 5/16 dia., have a point, and a pair of 2 1/2" wings.
I would like to trade for a couple of 48" S.S. shafts with a 6mm threaded end.
If you want to buy, e-mail me at Speargun@fishingworks.com

Hey Spear...think I got sucked into the same deal you did at Divers Direct. But, I got the 54" threaded with 5/16" threads...of course everything I use is 6mm:rolleyes:...I've tried to find an adapter from 5/16 to 6mm....but the ones I've found won't fit my Beco powerhead. May see if a machine shop will re thread to 6mm.

And you might have a buyer. Another possibility is to bring them to Aquatic Obsessions Tuesday if you go. Bill Hardman carries all the SS stuff, and the shafts you seem to be describing are the most popular.
Most everybody I know uses 5/16 threads, B&B Powerheads have 5/16 threads. I always used 60" shafts in my 48, so it seems like you have the right shaft. I even like to use a line shaft as a free shaft sometimes, the slide ring helps the shaft stay in the fish.
You are not really using those 6mm thread on tips............are ya? Don't tell them that at the seminar, they may make fun of ya;)

uhhh..... no. They don't fit! :D
Actually, 6mm tips are the only ones I've ever seen at any of the dive shops I've been to. I thought they were pretty much the standard.

I believe 6mm is real common for screw on tips, but we basically don't use them. On most SS shafts, the flippers are built in as well as the removal ring. If your shaft has 2 flippers that say B&B on them, you dont need a tip.......unless I'm missing something which is entirely possible.

That's the ones I have.

1) I already own a couple of different 6mm tips.
2) A tri-cut rock tip is a lot easier to sharpen in the field compared to a round point.
3) My PH is 6mm.
4) My polespear is 6mm
5) I'm just trying to conform with the rest of the world & go metric. :D <----
Don't get me wrong, I like the B&B shafts. I just want to get a couple of 48"/6mm shafts for spares.

The B&B shafts I got are single flipper with a threaded point..they are perfect for shooting but I can't attach my powerhead:(
