I am getting ready to set up some dates on the Jolly Rogers 2 for this winter, and am interested in what Spearboard members would be interested. Because of the Loop current, and the depths, the water never really gets below the low to mid 60 degree range. Additionally on the boat we have plenty of HOT fresh water for before and after diving as well as a fully enclosed large cabin. A 16' beam on a 43' boat means you ride comfortably if the seas get a little sloppy. The best time to hunt the MG is hands down in the winter (Spear One, give me an amen on that will ya') with large gags and aj's much more prevalent along with the usual massive quantities of mangos, barjacks, scamp, hogs, red grouper, triggers etc. There are some wintertime wrecks out there that will blow your mind. Many, many more smoker kings are around for hook and lining at night also (Kingmaster Shooter Dan will testify).

Reply on this thread with what dates you are interested in, and a way you can be reached. We're looking forward to slinging steel, turning the sea emerald green, loading stringers etc., all the shit that make the guys on the FS Forum blow a head gasket.

PS- Television and AM/FM stereo/CD player with high powered antenna on board means you don't have to miss the Bucs in the playoffs or the Superbowl (I hope)

After experiencing XM satellite radio on yesterday's fishing and spearing trip on the Blackfin. There is NO substitute!! Every middlegrounds capable boat should have it. :D

(Totally off subject, I know)

Check out www.jollyrogersii.com for info on the trip which usually leaves Friday and comes back Sunday doing 6 dives total. The trip is $375 pp which includes all meals, ice, and bait/tackle. If you haven't been to the Middlegrounds you are missing out on probably the best spearfishing in the USA. I'll be getting some firm dates, and will post them soon. Thanks, standing by.

I have 3 business clients who sling steel on the East Coast out of Jax who want me to arrange a trip for us to the MG. Based on reports from Shooter Dan, I've telling them how good the guys are who head out on the Jolly Rogers, and they want to see it first hand. How many guys can go on a trip out there, what is the package cost? Contact me at work next week-813-222-5901 or by cell 813-334-7612

You got two weekends to go bro. The calendar is marked on Dec 27-29 for the year end Middlegrounds showdown. With your guys true luck it will 4-6 INCH seas the whole weekend in spite of all this El Nino bullshit we've been having.
