I used to have one of these that worked as well as my computer; I used it as as backup and for laughs but it actually worked. Read a post on spearboard about them and started feeling nostolgic(?) so bought one on ebay for $30; prob is it dont work for shit. Dove to 120 feet for 30 minutes last sunday, the needle budged slightly. Can this be recalibrated?? or fixed??
If not, wet spot, do ya want a broken one?

Guys come on! I don't know how to read one much less calibrate it! For long medium depth dives I wouldn't use one but we normally "bounce dive" and it seems to work perfect. I want as many as I can get! They crap out and we sometimes lose them. A few of the best guys in the state still use them. While the computer guys are changing batteries or throwing their computers in their basket because it freaks out after two deep dives the SOS still goes strong.

They are actually conservative when matched up to a computer. All I do is I keep the needle out of the red and do a 10ft decomp on every deep dive. I have never been clinically bent... Maybe a slight annoying twitch every now and then but I repeat,,, never been clinically bent!

So I would appreciate what ever you guys could do. Email me and we can discuss details.

Thanks,

Stan
