If you're going to blow up a fish picture, try to find one that hasn't been mangled!

Theres a spot on a hogfish located quite a bit farther forward and in the darker area (called the brain) that is pretty handy. However, the fish doesn't put up quite as much fight. Depends on your preferences I guess, fight with the fish and kill all the meat, or move on quickly and get another one.

You might try one of those SS guns, mine tends to naturally locate the brain. That way, you don't have to powerhead the hogfish like you did this one.

I can PM you some of my photos if you would like to blow them up.

Yes inletsurf, I fish deep water almost every week of the year, and I love it.

Yeah, that reel is a Kristal custom made reel from Italy (customized in the US by a friend of mine in GA) See www.DeepDrop.com it has some of his reels on there - he is a super guy if yo know someone in the market.

I got hung on the copper wreck out of canaveral and the reel pulled up part of the rail :)

I use that reel even on 21F (130 feet) because the men don't get away. A 16/0 VMC circle hook, 150# leader with 2000' 130# spiderwire main and a 12" cero mackeral for bait and you better hold on to your britches....

Its the Mycteroperca Microlepis power wench! If it handled that 68# speed sow it can handle anything.

Now your making me wish I was heading east right now - stoppit@!

The photoshopped hog (actually 18#) was shot in the Middlegrounds with a shaft (not powerhead) off of an SS Rhino gun. I took a hail-mary shot as it was swimming away fast while stringing another fish, it holed up, and thus the mangling you see. Sorry that I only stone 90% of my fish. Are you trying to apply for the position of resident pain in the ass occupied by the ranks of Whitehawk,Genesis,Moose, and Seahunter? I would say you have a good chance of getting an offer.

Ya, I had a great time diving with financial Adv. I knew I had found a new friend when he threw AJ guts on me as I tried to escape from the 12 foot hammerhead (I had a little powerhead mismanagement issue).

What a pal. He quickly restored my confidence though when he told everybody it was a Cobia that was chasing me.

Ah, dude. I do know the diff between a hammerhead and a Cobia.........Anyway, I'm sure I'll get a chance to return the favor to Financial Adv!
