I use them on my tuna gun. I machined the butt into the shaft and only purchase the tips.

I have shot several tuna with them and they work as good as the expensive slip tips.

the newer ones work well. the ones with the slide ring didnt work so well. the ring always ended up on the wrong side of the fish, making it hard to get back out. make sure you use lock-tite on the threads. the fish can still spin a slip tip off.

I have shot the rock point and the tri-cut, both release well and hold in the fish but twice I have had the cable destroyed to where there were only a few threads left. Once on a 60 lb amberjack and once on a 30+ lb african pompano. Not sure if the fish banged around in the rocks or if the is a defect in the cable. Not too hard to fix and overall I would say the tips work well for the relatively low cost.

I still can't believe that AP tore up the cable. It did hold though. How much were those Biller tips?

If spectra is on anyone's wishlist, the cheapest I have found are those made by Plamen Kolev. They also happen to look great and lots of people have recommended them.
