We cancelled early this morning, due to the front moving in on sat. instead of sunday late evening. Mr. Big Hog gets another reprieve from getting the shaft.

I did a short tribal rain dance around my fire pit in the backyard to call on some bad weather:D

If I was not going, I sure as hell was not going to let you bag that 20lb hog while I was digging through mud for crab under a bridge in the bay all weekend:D

Sorry about the bad weather, you will have to pop the cherry on the new and improved Cubera some other time Chad.

Looks like I made the right call. Since 4am it's been coming on out of the ESE. Averaging 15 knots. Looks like more to come too. The ride home against tough SE winds would have been punishing.

Thanks Tommie, I hope you fall in that fire pit next time!

Better yet go with us, to insure the weather gods will be smiling!

Wasnt too bad this afternoon out 10 miles, like a lake actually. If this fronts what they say it is though I wouldnt want to be that far out as it approaches.

It was smart for Jim to call it while it's still out of the SE, and he could run the troughs back home.

It was rough Sat am but slacked off in the afternoon. We would now be getting our butts kicked headon for 100 plus n.miles!

Go Bucs!

fizisiition,

The weather sure can be weird here!
It was supposed to howl late Sun., (The seas did earlier get to 5.2' in the Grounds with SE winds at 17 to 21 knts.), but instead it fell off after 2 pm. The seas never got less than 3.6 ' out of the SE. But the big SW suck up and NW switch never came.

If you ran to the Grounds from a northern port at least the seas would have been at you rear quarter coming and going home. They'd have been in our face both ways.

Its drawing up out of the S at 15 to 17 knts right now, Mon 9:30am. They say this cold front is going to stall over N waters.
They don't have a clue!

Yeah, the nearshore forecast is for 5-10, but every flag I see is stretched out tight.
