I'm sure there's a thread out there covering this same topic but I haven't seen it so here you go: Any recommendations for me on getting a new pole spear?

I currently have a 7' JBL (the aluminum one) with 2 tips, an O.M.E.R. 5 prong barbed, trident type and the standard paralyzer tip. Applications will be jetties, beach, and kelp. I'm looking for maximum length, power, accuracy, and durability. I don't want to spend hundreds on a pole spear. Suggestions??

Gat-Ku makes a really nice spear for around $100. Or Ray Odor's is really nice. I think Rays is around $60 now.

I bought a Ray Odor and an extra section making it 8'. It is powerful and heavy, but I did manage to bend it on the 5th or 6th day I used it. I would still say its a good spear for the money. I would get a one piece if you can though.

Consider the Foldspear, solid aluminum construction and with the ability to carry in a holster on your thigh it makes shore entries a lot easier. It can also be easily carried as a backup to a speargun.
