Anyone have any info on spearfishing in Colombia? I've looked around and found stuff on pretty much every country around it, but nothing on Colombia. I'm trying to find out what, if any, their regulations are, as well as any problems I might encounter traveling through airports with my gear.
I'm also trying to find a good book or something to educate myself on what fish I'll be hunting there.
Any info or contacts down there would be greatly appreciated!

Hi , if you speak spanish that will be easier for me, but in advance voila: the game is much better in the pacific ocean than in the caribean side, i am in Santa Marta and the game ir really poor here, but at the guajira you can do good catches, the good points are cabo de la vela, manaure, bahia honda and bahia hondita,
in the pacific side all the coast have good places to spearfishing, you will be vaccined against the yelow fever and malaria for the caribean and pacific coasts.
no problem with spearfishing gear if you say that is fishing gear and go in the bagage compartiment, if you want more info send a PM, sorry about my english

I heard that in Colombia some great pelagics ( marlin, sailfish) are not allowed in spearfishing. Are there specific reg. on the place?
