Going to australia in 12 days!!!!

Ill be going to australia from dec. 16 - Jan. 5 and i plan to do alot of surfing and also some spearing. Ive got the surfing all figured out but i have a few questions about the spearing.:confused: ill be staying in the noosa area which is on the sunshine coast north of brisbane. i dont really have any info on the spearing so i need some help.cWhat kind of fish? GT's? Coral trout? i also need some info on appropriate gear for the fish species there. i plan on bringing my euro gun, floatline, sling, and my friend is bringing a 48" mid handle and a ray odor pole spear with slip tip. hopefully this will cover the majority of hunting well encounter? Also i will be going on a four day dive trip to Lady Elliot Island on the great barrier reef. I dont believe spearing is allowed there but i could be wrong?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

they have a good forum and group of guys that work there that will put you on the right stuff. they are based out of brisbane. the gear you metioned will be good. bring some gloves for lobsters(crayfish) or you can just shoot them! nice thing about queensland. Shoot Jewfish and all kinds of other good stuff from land. watch out for tigers and other good Sharks that around in the summer up there.

At Noosa you are in tropical waters and you would expect cobia, spanish mackerel, GTs, coral Trout and a host of others.

I'll be in Oz from the 5th to the 20th. Flying in to Sydney going all the way up the coast to Mackay and maybe CAirns. Most of the time will be spent in Brisbane and a bit south of there in Jewie country.
