I think if you can say you had more divable days than days too rough, on a Coral Sea trip you can smile. We had that on the 07 Extreme trip.
This was my first year to take an underwater camera in my earlier video clips it was always my son doing the underwater videoing while I did the video editing. I had taken this camera out only twice before I left for the Coral Sea trip. There is no doubt that in the realms of underwater filming I was the novice. As I don't need my hands to clear my ears descending while holding my gun and filming was not a problem. However when it come to concentrating on the hunting, body and gun positioning while keeping the camera focused in the right direction, while holding my breath, I had some difficulty and at one point stopped filming until I shot a few fish.
The following videos are only what came through my camera and don't represent the whole trip. I have only seen my son's results and he has taken some awesome footage and where I put the camera away to shoot tuna and wahoo he managed to catch those shots too. However finally I managed to give him some payback and filmed some of the fish he fought during the trip.
I broke the trip in 3 sections. In the first part Ant (my son) and I speared some close reefs a couple of days before the trip. The second section cover Kenn and Frederick Reef while part three catches our retreat before foul weather back to the Swains.
