According to the front page as of 11-21-03, Spearboard has 1377 members. That's a pretty loud voice, but only if you join.

With that in mind, here is another poll to determine just how many of you are willing to join the NSA (National Spearfishing Association).

If you want to protect your right to spearfish, please select YES.

If you would rather give up your right to spearfish and join PETA so that you can become a liberal, tree hugging, bunny loving, vegetarian, select NO.

If you are undecided on whether to defend your rights or join PETA, select MAYBE and start practicing your golf swing.

Speak now or forever loose your spearfishing rights! If you spearfish and haven't joined Spearboard yet, stop wasting time and JOIN NOW.

You might want to consider contacting existing State and regional diving organizations. They have experience lobbying their local, State and Federal authorities.

No offense but the "No-PETA is the way for me" alternative option is just plain stupid. If we're gonna do this its going to have to be done in an intelligent manner. Giving someone those options wont get much respect for the organization, those who care to join, and or anything we have to say.

I feel the same way as Ed on this one....Could be the reason other people are holding off as well. I like the notion of this but not the wording.

Perhaps the Association/Organization should be a FISHING RIGHTS organization that equates a speargun with a fishing rod.

It is great to see so many people willing to fight for their rights. Spearboard members have some serious collective muscle. Directing that strength to its most effective use would certainly be beneficial to our sport.
Nice job on getting the interest up, Speargun. You are one that, I am sure, will not go quietly.
I can't wait to see everybody at a Gulf Council or FWC meeting.
We let them know that we are coming, we show up en masse, and we remind them that we were there. Stay tuned. Stay stoked.
