What I am basically looking for is a group of guys to spearfish with on a regular basis. I have a small 15 footer which is ok for local dives, but I am looking to hook up with a few guys that dive the islands on a regular basis.
the guys I dive with mostly scuba, so when we get to the islands they go one way and I go the other to get away from them so they don't spook the fish. So what I am really looking for is a few dedicated spearfishing only guys to dive with.
So basically one of the divers would need to have a boat that would be capable of the trip to Catalina. Obviously I'm willing to pay my share of fuel costs and so on. Plus help with the cleaning of the boat and so on.
let me know if anyone is interested in another guy joining your group. I can dive during the week and also on some weekends. So I'm pretty flexible when it comes to planning trips.

Socalscot,
I am up for a group of guys I can spear with on a regular basis. I usually shore dive and sometimes hop on a small rib with my buddy. My deal is, my group of friends arent really into spearing or not spearing as much as I want to. So I am always looking for someone to dive with. If it were a boat situation I used to work on the Catalina Express so Ive put some time in cleaning a boat. I will be up for gas and all other fees. I am able to dive on weekends and some 4 day weekends (Holidays).
I believe I PM you on a different site about a trade for your Excalibur with the HH muzzle.

Miguel,
I replied to this but seemed to Die quickly. I responded before I meet some people on the board and was interested in a group. I myself have been spearing for 2 years with a pole spear and this past summer upgraded to a gun. I try to go out at least once a week. If you are looking for a dive feel free to P.M me. I live in Orange County.

Sorry for the lack of response guys. Been busy lately.
My name is Scot
anyway, I have been spearing for about a year. Mostly at Catalina. I started with shore dives in and around PV and Laguna. But I got tired of the sand getting everywhere. Now I try to only boat dive if I can. The guys I currently spear with have less experience then me so it does nothing for my learning curve. Not to mention they only scuba. So I basically slide into the water and go the opposite direction that they go so that the bubble and noise don't spook the fish I can get to.
The main thing that I'm looking for is some guys that I can count on. The group I dive with are toooo flakey and end up backing out or canceling trips at the last minute. Its kind of hard to improve at the sport if I can't get in the water.
I can dive every other tuesday and every other friday as well as every other weekend.
We might be going out tomorrow (x-mas) if the weather cooperates. But as of right now it does not look like its going to.
