My biggest Gag to date .... got him Sat in 160 fsw south of Destin.

Temp low 70's, vis 60 - 80 (down from 80+ 2 weeks ago, before the storms), narced pretty bad, several smaller and larger grouper around, , this was the only one I got a shot at, and not a very good shot at that.

Got him right in the filet!!

The good sized Gags have already started to move inshore. What size is your fish in inches or lbs?

Hi Jim,

I'll steal Tom's thunder and tell you his grouper was 36" and 25lbs.

My grouper (same day, but inshore on the LCM-8) was 32".

Was out yesterday, 26 Nov, and got a 32" and a 30" Gag in 50 FSW. Second dive was good for a 33" Gag in 75 FSW. Of course the big ones got away. I broke a wishbone when I first loaded my gun or I would have gotten about a 35" to 37" on the first dive. On the second dive I had another 32" that wanted to go nose-to-nose with me (if you shoot straight-on, you have got to go back to the boat and cut the fish open to get the shaft out of the fish). It eased sideways enough to get behind rubble, then was gone in a flash. Good hunting, hope your boat is running good now!

Jim,

These excellent gag dive reports this early in the winter season are getting me ready to clear out some extra freezer space. Now, if I could just find some lobsters.

My boat is running great.

Jim - Stone answered the question but I didn't wanna blow you off ....

Anyway, going out to Angelina/Zuess/Belize area this morning when it warms a bit, I'll let ya know how it turns out. Based on what is happening in shore, should be pretty good.

It better be good for me to miss the ass kicking the mighty Gators are gonna deliver today!:D
