Hey guys, I thought I would post some pics of my polespear project I have been working on in my free time. I got the idea whan I was helping my father who is a golf fanatic clean out his garage. When we were clearing things out I asked him what he was doing with a bucket full of carbon golf club shafts he had sitting in the garage he said "nothing those are the ones that are left from building new clubs and that they are too short to use for golf clubs" I asked him if I could have a couple and he said sure take whatever you want so I grabbed a handful of them and began trying to figure out how to build a two piece polespear. It took me a few weeks but I finally was able to fabricate couplings to put it together here are some photos:

the two pieces sitting side by side

the couplings that joins the two shafts together and the tip to the end of the spear, this took me some time to solder together and get them straight

full polespear put together minus the sling

I still have work to do like blend the edges of the couplings so that they are smoother and then painting of the whole spear, adding a sling and inserting weights into the shafts to weight them and balance the spear but you get the idea of what it will look like when finished.

You might be able to mix fine chopped fiberglass powder into resin-polyester or epoxy, and smooth out, to blend the uneven shaft parts. Then varnish with thinned epoxy. Show us the results.

Or,
just shrink-wrap around the joints.

Nice creation! I'm curious about the weight and flexibility. It looks pretty solid:thumps:.
