here she is.....all fixed up and ready to rock!!!! i want to use this for bad viz days while looking for striper!

i'm running three 9/16" bands and a 5/16" mori shaft w/ 3" flopper

in case you're wondering that little contraption on the left side is my camera mount. it's adjustable for any angle or position you want and has a standard camera thread so it'll hold 99% of cameras out there with no modifications.

here are some pics......

Where did you get the camera mount? Have you used it underwater yet?

What kind of range do you get with that set up? I've been considering a small midhandle gun for shallow freediving around here where the vis is usually bad close to shore.

i've used one of my motorcycle for years.....and it holds up just fine to bad weather and vibrations....it's stable all the way up to 165mph :) i can't remember where i got it from....it used to be in my favorites on my computer but i blew that one up a few weeks ago. i'll find the info and let you know.

when you take it off the gun it cleans up nicely too....just leaving the base so you can move it around from gun to gun with no tools required.

i haven't shot it yet but i'm guessing 10 feet MAX.....it's probably going to be really effective to about 8 feet....but it is going to have more recoil due to the heavy shaft and three bands. i'm going to get some pool time with it before going into the ocean.

I'll be interested in hearing how it shoots with that 5/16" shaft. I've always used a 9/32" in my 55" hybrid and just assumed that 5/16" would be too much, but I have to confess I haven't tried it.

But I'm kind of curious why you want to use 5/16" anyway? All the white sea bass that I have taken over 50 pounds have been with 9/32", and it works fine.

i think it was just dumb luck....but i've bent the smaller shafts around the rocks. some of the shots i've had in bad are only a few feet....even when i nailed the fish i was still slamming the shaft into the rocks hard and they were just getting really beat up.

i figured i'd try something new and see how it works out. i'll make sure to let you know how it performs in the pool.....actually....i'll take some video and post it up!

OK, I hadn't even thought of that, but I guess it makes sense. I used to shoot rocks in other places but it was so long ago that I had forgotten. All of my shots out here are in open water.

This is a sweet gun. What type of paint job is that? Daryl and I are discussing a NE for myself so I'm dying to know how this preforms. Good looks on that camera mount too. I may jus get on for this very same gun. Great post:thumps:
