We don't even start seeing hogs here till you hit 100-120'. Little deep for my freediving skills.

There are some spots you could do it up in North Carolina. Have heard of some taken freediving on Frying pan shoals.

And 100-120 ft is 40 miles out. I'm sticking with scuba. Plus my breath hold is horrible. Those freediving guys look a hell of a lot in better shape than I'll ever even think about. Les

There are a few free divers mainly doing the offshore wrecks where the structure comes up to about 60-80ft or on the ledges for free swimmers(cobia, kings, wahoo). The best place is the offshore end of Frying Pan shoals where the depth comes up to 50ft with deeper water close by. On my photos post, the biggest Hog shown was shot while anchored by Frying Pan Tower in 50ft of water. I do alot of charter trips with that area being the 3rd dive after 2 Deep in the summertime. You have to check currents though as the Stream eddy's in and sometimes it really rips.
