Performance Freediving International (PFI) and The Mid-Atlantic Freedivers Club have collaborated to host a one-day seminar scheduled for March 13 th .
Our guest speaker is world famous Kirk Krack and his team from Vancouver, BC Canada and Bob Croft, another diving pioneer.
Performance Freediving International (PFI) is an organization established by Kirk Krack.
Kirk concentrates on freediving related business. Through his company, he runs a freediving school and does promotional work that covers the globe. Central part of PFI is PFI Team with members: Mandy-Rae Cruickshank , Kirk Krack and Brett LeMaster . The focus of the PFI Team is record-breaking performance and education.
About 300 people a year take the Performance Freediving course. About 90 per cent are men. The school's graduates include golf legend Tiger Woods, several of the world's top big-wave surfers, and magician David Blaine. Each had their own motivations: Tiger wanted to go deeper when he spearfishes. The surfers wanted to survive if a wave pins them to the bottom. David Blaine wanted to pull off a televised magic trick where he spent nine minutes underwater in a plastic sphere.
Performance Freediving offers multi-faceted educational freediving courses targeted at a wide range of snorkelers, freedivers and spearfisherman. Well known for quality programs that stress safety and performance, Performance Freediving trained over 2300 people over the past 7 years,
A little more about Kirk:
Kirk Krack is a professional freediving trainer and coach who has worked with eight current world record holders, including Tanya Streeter, Brett LeMaster, Mandy-Rae Cruickshank, Martin Stepanek, Eric Fattah and Karoline Dal Toe.
Kirk is a past member of the executive board of AIDA International and is also an AIDA International Judge where he actively judges world record attempts and competitions. He is also the past president of the Canadian Association of Freediving and Apnea (CAFA) where he also organizes and runs regional and national competitions.
As captain of Team Canada for CAFA, he has successfully coached and managed the women's team to two first place finishes at the last two AIDA World Championships. In 2004 Kirk was the lead organizer when CAFA hosted the AIDA World Championships in Vancouver Canada.
Kirk has an extensive recreational and technical scuba diving background as an instructor trainer in trimix and mixed gas diving as well as ice-diving and other related fields. With this experience Kirk has been involved in numerous freediving events as diving supervisor, safety diver and videographer for freediving pioneers like Pipin and Audrey Fererras.
His experience in the technical diving industry has helped him achieve depths of 152 meters / 500 feet and helped him develop diving businesses in Canada and the Cayman Islands. His diving industry business experience started when he bought his first dive shop in 1990 at age 20
