fyi we headed out to catalina today to collect some specimens for work on scuba. flat swell going there and about a ten knot wind on the way back. The water was cold both on the surface and down deep it was even worse, I clocked about 54 on the surface. Visibility was only fair, parsons and two harbors had about ten foot vis, but we dove another area that was close to forty foot vis so it's variable around the island. Lots of short bugs under the rocks everywhere.
Didn't see a whole lot of fish life, some decent calicos here and there but nothing like summer and only blacksmith as far as bait goes. No wsb heard or seen but we didn't expect to since we were blowing bubbles ;).
