Anyone Spear west end or the berry islands?

i was thinking of sailing to the bahamas this summer with a few friends and diving for a week or three? as were sailing we'd like to go somewhere remotely close to south florida, while still being able to find good fish. any suggestions?

There are lots of places around west end, but I think the northern abacos are more sailboat friendly, (i'm not a sailboat guy) but there are a few nice places to park a sailboat up that way.

to long for me on a sail how fast do you cruise ?

Pretty slow. id say four knots or so. its a small sailboat, 23 footer but my friend has been sailing since he could walk so i trust him to get us there. i cant wait till summer so i can go somewhere good to dive.

idk how far west end is from lauderdale it sounds like a 16 hours trip ouch
