First dive, we dropped in on the deep ledge. I come up and see Rjnjupiter up to his fins under a ledge. He had shot a gag and was in recovery mode. Unfortunately so was half the Bull Shark population in Jupiter. Mark (silva948) stayed near the opening as RJ went all the way in and disappeared. He eventually came out with a 40 " Gag Grouper. Biggest Gag I've seen this year. Bubba fish nailed 2 fat AJs on the same dive and even with the Bulls, tucked one under his arm and went to the boat. Brass Nads! The Bulls followed all the divers and came right to the ladder. On the second dive I swam up on Rj and Silva948 loitering on the reef..They were taking their gear off. I thought I was about to witness some underwater version of Brokeback Mountain. Thank God, Rj slid under a crevice that seemed smaller than he was and pulled the trigger. Mark went under on his turn and pulled a gag out of the hole. Good teamwork. Over to the left ,Snokat swooped down on another gag and nailed him. He bagged it and within a minute nailed another. We haven't had this much action since ...last week. Let the good dives roll! Later, up the reef. Chuckitall took a moment to admire a spotted Eagle Ray while Island Pressure took the time to nail the Cobia that was following. Johnoly topped off the cooler with a nice Trigger, a Hogfish and a couple of rare year end Lobster. Great group, lots of action and loads of fun. Unfortunately, my contribution today was that of a casual observer and witness. Better luck tomorrow.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought we were on a bull shark trip on that first dive. The diving in Jupiter is awesome right now!! I am going to have to start making a steady amount of trips there again like the old days. To sum up my take on the trip, high energy adrenaline at its best!!!

Yep, Bull shark tour on the first drop. Bubba brainshoots a monster AJ to start with, but no sharks. Sweet! Then I see Cliff stone a gag below me up on the point position. Nice shot!
Now I have point and this pony of a gag dashes into a cave that Lee mentioned. Fire up my flashlight and wait for the sand to settle as RJ and Silva slide in for support. I take my shot at an eyeball in the depths of the cave and come up empty. I'm told later on the boat that a bull was nipping at my heals when I pulled the trigger. Yikes, glad I didn't see that. After my miss I turn to reload and cover RJ and Silva, and another bull is charging in. GULP!
He turns off with me holding what felt like a toothbrush in one hand and my shaft in the other. WHEW! I kind of forgot about RJ and Silva going after my gag at that point and drifted off. Back on the boat is the 39" gag waiting for me. Bubba shows up at the swim ladder with another AJ still on the spear and bulls on the chase.
I did manage to drop on a gag on the second drop and brain him. After floating him up and gathering myself here comes a high speed gag off the sand to the reef that I'm just above and get a shot on this fatty. Didn't know I hit him 'til the line tightened when he holed up. He tore himself up quite a bit and came flying out with my line tangled inside the hole. It was such a mess I floated the whole rig up. Two gags in less than 10 minutes. Saw several more during my bug hunt which yielded zip.
A great day with what seemed like a Spearboard Charter. Almost called SeaTow for another cooler, it was stuffed.:toast:

Classic carnage :thumps: Thanks for the report.
PS
Anyone who thinks the shark population is in decline hasn't been out in Jupiter lately.

Bubba and IslandPressure(Cliff) were the big winners today just stuffing the cooler. IslandPressure's cobe jump out of the cooler still alive and SnoKat slammed 6 inches of Titanium into his skull trying to persuade it to stay in the airconditioning.
Not to repeat what's been posted, but I'd like to extend an A-Hole thankyou to the 50 person party boat who all dropped circle hooked bait and egg sinkers 100 feet from me on my safety stop, with a ocean full of pissed off Bull Sharks, and my dive marker float in clear view. I really enjoyed being charged at until Capt Tony shove the 4 prop blender on to clear them out.
I gotta get rid of these Yum Yum yellow fins!

Sounds like a great trip. By the way, if I came down to spear would I be frowned upon if I screwed on my PH for some "protection" on those toothy critters that come swarming in? Do they just come to "see" or to really eat? Don't know how you all concentrate on hunting with all that going on?
John when are you coming up to shoot sharkless up here?

I want to add that while everybody was getting Gags, I shot a Mutton that I would have been proud of and before I could grab the line a Bull grabbed the fish. It tugged for a second and ripped it off. Last time that happened I lost the gun. Not this time. I was swimming on the ledge and watching a large Eagle Ray approach. I didn't focus on what was following underneath, but Island Pressure got a nice Cobia off of its underside. Great dives with everybody today. Randy suggestion box, get a bigger cooler.
